Norfolk, Va. Nov: 21st 1867.

Respectfully returned to Bvt. Maj: J.H. Remington, S.A.C. I have made diligent search for Thomas Williams but have failed to find him. I can find no one who knows him.
The books of C.C. Brown, Agent in this city for Wolfe Hart & Co. shows that a Thomas Williams of Co. "H" 36th U.S.C.T. was paid by Wolf Hart & Co. in May last Brown states that he forwarded a claim for Thomas Williams of C.C. 37th U.S.C.T. but has no Record of it on his books and cannot tell at what date it was sent up. I would respectfully call attention to the date of the application "May 14th 1867" and date of receipt by Wolf Hart & Co. "May 16th 1867" and suggest whether there is not some mistake in the date.
