Received back Dec 16th 1867.

Office, Sup Education
Richmond Va. Dec 16th/67.

Respectfully returned to Genl. O. Brown Asst Comr The great value of good school rooms in promoting the success of a School cannot be denied. All the teachers of all the associations feel it, but in most cases only indiferent rooms can be had, and this deficiency must be made up, as far as practicable by extra faithfulness and devotion to duty, on the part of teacher & pupils.

A room has been rented and fitted up at the expense of the Bureau for the School at Halifax, C. House. It is not deemed expedient or just to other Schools having poorer accomodations to do more for that place the present year.
