The bearer Ellick has been badly beaten by some citizens of your County. I desire you to take cognizance of the outrage and bring the guilty Parties to justice - about time this practice was abolished

I have the honor to ask for Transportation for Ellick Washington Corporal Co "F" 32 U.S.C.I. from Lauderdale Springs to this place. This Corporal goes to Lauderdale in charge of Patients for the Asylum. Transportation was furnished by Order of Genl. Wood for himself and Patients from here to Lauderdale - but none for him to return.

I have the honor to report that a Freedman was murdered yesterday in this County near Marion Station by a white man named Johnson - he has been arrested by the Civil Authorities.
