Dear Sir

The bearer "Malinda" has made a complaint at this Office stating that she contracted with Mrs. Seggett for her services during this year that Mrs. S. drove her off and that a Mr Jack Adams forced her to work for you without making any contract She also states that you make her work very hard and that she expects nothing for her services. Her statement seems to be incredulous and you will oblige me by sending a statement of her case. She also says she is afraid you will beat or shoot her if she returns. I have assured her that you will do neither - If she contracted with you of course you are entitled to her services if not I do not suppose you wish to retain her by force.

Very Respectfully
