I expect to be at De Kalb some time during the present month and with your permission will take great pleasure in visiting your School. you are certainly engaged in a very Laudable and missionary Enterprise and any assistance I may be able to render you will be most cheerfully given. I would like to hear from you and learn what assistance the Citizens of De Kalb have given you and whether or not you have met with any opposition.

I wrote to you sometime ago giving you a statement of several complaints made by the bearer "Malinda" and requested you to reply to the same but as yet have not heard from you. I send this letter by her with a request that if you have no written contract with her you will permit her to take her children and things away from your premises
