New Orleans La Major I have the honor to enclose herewith Pay vouchers for Capts Chapman Sunderland and myself for the month of July 1866. Please remit in U.S. Currency by express at my expense as we cannot realize on the checks you sent us last month. We sent them to Vicksburg the Banks refused to cash them. Sent them to Mobile with a similar result — then sent them to N.O. by a friend and as yet have received no money.
