Qrs. Dist of Miss, Bu RF & AL, Office Asst Commr, to the Justices of the Peace of these co's. Sir, I have the honor to request, if it does not conflict with your duties, the number of actual convictions for murder and manslaughter committed in your County since May, 1865, in which Freedmen were the victims or parties. This is required to refute certain statements current, and is made upon a request from the office of Brevet Major General T.J.
