On the 8" day of last month I forwarded a special requisition for Stationary for this office, but no action has hitherto been taken thereon. I now respectfully beg leave to say, that it is absolutely nesessary that this requisition should be filled at the earliest possible moment, as there is no stationary on hand and I have been obliged to furnish the Office with writing materials at my own expense. 

On the 19th ulto I addressed a communication on the same subject to Captain J.W. Scully, Depot Quartermaster, Vicksburg.

Sir, 
In accordance with a late order from the Bureau to Sub-Commissioners in this State it is necessary for these in making application for transportation of indigent, sick and helpless freedmen from points in this State to the Bureau hospital or asylum for care in those institutions, in support of their applications to give information on the following points or such of them as are applicable to the case:

1. Name, age, and place of residence of the party to be transported
2. The nearest railroad station or river landing at which the party can be delivered for transportation.
3. Whether or not an attendant is necessary
4. Whether arrangements can be made by which the Government need not furnish transportation for the attendant or both patient and attendant.
5. If transportation is to be furnished the attendant, his name must be given.

When persons living away from the line of railroad or river, having charge of the class of freedmen above referred to, make application to Sub-Commissioners for removal of such freedmen, they [[strikethrough]] should [[/strikethrough]] must be willing to deliver the patients at the nearest railroad station or river landing; the Government cannot hire ambulances or wagons for their conveyance.-

You will from the contents of the above order see that it will be necessary for you to give me information on all the points governing [[strikethrough]] set forth therein [[/strikethrough]] before any action can be taken in the case of Henry Murphy, a freedman under your charge, declared to be insane.

Such information is requested at an early day.
