I have the honor to report that on the 21st inst R.W. Maxcy a Citizen of this District made Affidavit before me that John. B. Adams. Wm Adams J. W. Jones & Bascom Legett Citizens of the Co of Kemper State of Miss had arrested and imprisoned a Freed woman named "Malinda" under Color of a Statute of Law of the state of Miss that provides for different pains &
