3 Bureau Refugees Freedmen & A.L. Office Sub Ass't Com'r. Meridian Miss July 20. 1867 Mrs S. Bass, Meridian. Miss. Madam My duties to day render it impossible to visit your plantation, as promised in our interview this morning. This proposition is not only sustained by the terms of the contract, but is manifestly to the advantage of both employer and employee, and as such I can make no objection to its immediate execution I am Madam Very Respectfully Your Obt Servant Thomas H Norton Bvt Maj.
