Peter Drench freed man, on or about January 1st 1862 You will also be a prepared to present a statement showing the amount of provisions furnished to said Peter Drench under this contract and the prices charged for same You are hereby notified that any improper treatment such as driving freedmen away from your place without a just and proper settlement or by threats of violence compelling them to leave within the same will be punished to the full extent of the law by the Military authorities.
