Sir, Isaac Stute (freedman) having complained at this office that you are endeavoring to make an unfair settlement with him, you will report at these Head Quarters Monday Dec 16, 67. at 10am. when the complaint will be investigated Respectfully Andrew Thomas Agt B.R.F. & A.L. (Clark County) Sir Mary McElmore (freedwoman) complains at this office that Mark McElmore (freedman) has her daughter Sarah McElmore that he ill treats her and will not allow her to leave him Also that the girl is under eighteen years of age - You will please investigate the matter or arrest the (freedman) and cause him to be sent to this office Respty Agt. 118 B.R.F. & A.L. Hd Qrs Sub Dist Meridian Meridian Miss Dec 14. 1867 Mr. A. E. Mason Bureau R.F. and A Lands Hd Qrs. Subdist Meridian Meridian Miss Dec 14 1867 JR Wallen Esq. Lauderdale Miss. Sir You are hereby ordered to appear at this office Saturday next Dec 21st 1867 at 10 00 AM to answer chg preferd against you by freedman J. Lacken You are also informed that a refusal to accept an official communication from these Hd Qrs will be considered as Contempt of the Bureau RF & AL and upon the receipt of sufficient evidence that you have done so - You will be sent to Vicksburg Miss for trial by Mil. Com'n. Andrew Thomas Agt.
