January 8th 1868 Joseph Eakins- Sheriff of Lauderdale Co. or his Deputy John McCon, having been ordered to appear at this office (4) four different times, and having failed to do so, assigning sickness as a cause, you will please ascertain if his excuse is justifiable- If not cause his arrest and have him brought to these Head Quarters.
