Sir,
A. Buckalew and Amanda Robinson (freedwoman) have entered complaints at this office that W.C. McDonald of Clark County is trying to defraud them of their share of the crop of 1867. 

You will please see that the provisions of Circular #24, from Head Quarters 4th Military District , dated Holly Springs Dec 16th 1867 are strictly complied with.

Gentlemen - 
Please send me a copy of the bill against Mrs Bass - upon which you base your claim against the two bales Cotton sold you by her last week. It seems that the Cotton belonged to two freedmen (Wm. Kemugay and Green Jones) and that Mrs Bass was simply acting as their Agent, they having furnished their own supplies during the year.
