Sir,
Peter Edwards and Wm Maggard (freedman) complain at this office that they are unable to make a settlement with T.L. Lloyd of this Co in dividing the crop raised by them on the plantation of B.F. Moore.

You will please see that a board of Arbitration is appointed in accordance with the requirements of Circular No 24 dated Hd Qrs Dec 4th Mil Dist Holly Springs Miss Dec 16th 67 the members of the board of Arbitration, and Sheriff Lee, are to be paid pro rata from the property Arbitrated
The former at $3.00 per diem.

You are hereby directed to stay the sale or removal of corn on the plantation of B.F. Moore of Sageville Miss. cultivated by T.F. Lloyd and freedman - (now housed in cribs on the said Moores place) until a board of arbitration has rendered a decision in the case of dispute between T.F. Lloyd and freedmen - Sheriffs fees to be paid pro rata from the property arbitrated.
