January 28, 1868 three freedmen named Lunny, Orange and John Clark (or Dyas) reported at this office that they were from Hickory Station Newton Co Miss. and that they were engaged in the recent collission with the Honnis Brothers at that place I immediately telegraphed to your Head Quarters, for instructions, not having received an answer I turned them over to the Marshall of this City this P.M. upon a warrant issued by E.L. Bromlette, Justice of the Peace of Lauderdale Co. Miss. I am Sir Very Respectfully Your Obt Servt Andrew Thomas Agt &c
