F. | Near Sageville Miss April 16th 1866 States that Betsy Winter refuses to comply with her contract refuses to work, and has returned to her home, requests that she be arrested and returned to him | | Sept 8th 2. | McInnis John Citizen. | Vernon Miss Sept 8th 1866 States that his Son D. H. C. McInnis was indited and arrested and held for trial in the Circuit Court of Perry Co for being in Company with others who went [[strikethrough]] with others [[/strikethrough]] to Augusta and burned the Co Prison which was occupied by the Confederate Govt for the purpose of confining Union Men Conscripts for and deserters from the Army. States that no murders have been committed in his Co, since May, 1865 to which the Freedmen were parties or victims of the same. - States further that the freedmen are generally quiet and peaceable, but sometimes commit offences of petit larceny. |
