NARA 203 War Department, Adjutant General’s Office, Washington, D.C. January 27, 1874 Lieut J. K. Hyer, 18th Infantry, Disbursing Officer, Columbia, S.C. Sir: I have to inform you that there has been mailed to your address, this day, a supply of the blank forms requested by your letter of the 19th inst, excepting form No 32, which is designed for the use of the Chief disbursing officer, only. You are hereby authorized to purchase an inkstand and a bottle of ink, for which you will forward vouchers to the Chief disbursing officer for payment.
