Sir:
I have the honor to transmit herewith a copy of General Orders No 10, War Department, Adjutant General's Office, dated February 11, 1874, publishing extracts from Treasury Department Circular, " Instructions Concerning the Proper Disposition of Certificates of Deposit."

I have also forwarded by mail a supply of blanks, "Letters transmitting Certificates of Deposits to the Secretary of the Treasury."  Hereafter, in making deposits under Circular from this Office of February 5, 1873, a certificate (in duplicate) will be obtained in Paragraph II, General Orders No. 10, current series.  
The notification under Paragraph IV will consist of a copy of the letter of transmittal to the Secretary of the Treasury, which should be accompanied by the evidence of death, received by you, upon which the deposit was made.
