I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt from your office of a map - giving a portion of the States of North and South Carolina - embracing the District in which I am charged with payments to Colored Soldiers, Sailors or Marines or their legal representatives

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of a communication from your office, dated May 21st 1873 directing me to make requisition for such Stationery, as I may need, for the six months ending December 31st 1873, in my capacity as a Disbursing Officer to Colored Soldiers Sailors or Marines or their legal representatives. So little business has passed through my office with reference to this position, that I have no data upon which to forward a correct or just requisition. And I therefore request that I may receive such Stationery, as may be thought necessary for my use, as a Disbursing Officer during the time referred to -
