Dear Sir
Information has been received at this office that the claim of Mary Martin (Widow of Geo Martin Late Corp Co "G"- 100 Reg) is disputed it is therefore necessary that she should be examined and more fully identify herself. I would request that you (as an attorney) have her appear with her witnesses at Cairo Ills at Custom House the latter part of next where I shall be.  
In a few days I will notify you of the exact time that I shall be at Cairo.
Your Letters of the 28th April and May 7th have been received. 
The money has not as yet been received for the parties named. They will be duly notified by mail of its arrival and when and where to receive it.

Yours of the 1st inst I have received 
I am prepared to pay Marie Bennett any time that she shall
satisfactorily identify herself. I shall be at this place until the Middle of next month and at Cairo Illinois in the latter part of June (the particular date I can not
now state). If she prefers it and can identify herself without delay I [[Strikethrough]] would [[/Strikethrough]] will endeavor to stop at Evansville on my way to Cairo and pay her there. It would probably facilitate her identification if she could procure the affidavits (on the Blanks form forwarded to her) of W. T. Bennett and R Teragin Easton and also a Certificate of affidavit from yourself that she is the person for whom you presented to the claim.
