NARA 72

Ripley O. Apl 14 1873.

Genl A P Howe
Disbursing Officer, &c

Sir:
I trust you will pardon me for suggesting the propriety of giving the bearer Moses Pearson a draft on Cin or N. York (which can be used at par here;) for his money. He is not in the habit of carrying money, & I fear he might lose it, or some one will rob him;

I was Paymr in the late War, & had my Head Qrs. in your city for nearly 2 yrs. I always paid in the front. I should like to visit your city where I have friends & relatives

Very Truly yrs
