I was a Private in Company A U S Light Artillery colored I sent my Discharge when I filed my application for bounty I got my money through the agents of The Freedmans Bureau S.B. French informed me that my Discharge was Sent to Genl O.O. Howard chief Disbursing Officer that I would get it through him as yet I have failed to get it in fact none of the colored Soldiers in this part of Kentucky have got their discharged Soldiers have got them will you interest yourself for me and let some know what steps to take to get it.
