NARA 280

Stanford Ky May 14, 1873,

Genl A. P. Howe
Louisville
Ky

Dear Sir
Enclosed find affidavit of myself as to the death of Claiborne Taul. The affidavit is based on information furnished me from the Board of health and Register of Pest House. I hope this will be sufficient evidence of his death that the money may be returned that I may make application to the Auditor for a new settlement with the widow and heirs. If this is not sufficient will you advise me as to the Course and can you give me the number of the claim. I have been prosecuting a claim of Sally Cunningham widow of Thomas Cunningham 125" Regt. U.S. Col. Infy. She was formerly of Hustonville, then Shelby City and then went to Jeffersonville In. I am looking for a letter from her.
Respectfully
R. Blain
