Warsaw Ky May, 19. 1873

Gen A.P. Howe, U.S.A.
Louisville Ky.

Enclosed you will find a correspondence, which has passed since I was at your office, with James Hughes (col), - between myself, Hosmer & Co., and the Hon E.B. French 2d Auditor.

You will see by the Auditors endorsement on the back of the letter of Messrs Hosmer & Co's [[strikethrough]] letter [[/strikethrough]] that the claims of Jerry and James Jr., were both ordered to be paid at the same time, and I suppose by this time, you have received directions to pay the claim on account of James Jr? If so, please write me or the claimant word, so that he may come immediately and get his money.

This letter, and the enclosed were written at the request of James Hughes father of Jerry and James Jr.,

Please answer and oblige

Yours Most Respectfully,
L.L. Tiller
