Referring to your letter of the 23rd inst. submitting certain recommendations relative to the discovery and payment of claimants for bounty re. under instructions from this office of the 19th inst., you are authorized to have printed five hundred (500) posters similar in language to the advertisement from this office of February 1. 1873, copy herewith, to be distributed as suggested in your letter. 
Your suggestions that to facilitate the discovery of claimants circulant be issued by the Postmaster General to the various postmasters requesting their assistance, and that certain persons named by you be paid a bounty for each claimant they may discover cannot be adopted.
