NARA 423 For seventeen years one of the leading Agency Companies in the United States Genl A. P. Howe Agency at Frankfort Ky 2 June 18173 Dear Sir One Julia Ane Stodds who was the widow of Wm [[William]] Stodds dec'd late Co "H" 124th U. S. Col'd.I. brought me a circular letter from you addressed to "Julia Stocks" Col'd which stated that blank affidavit had been previously sent. This woman says she some time since presented herself in Lexington before you with a paper prepaid before Erquire Gavin and that you retained the paper but paid her no money - I am aware of the fact that there is a woman in this city one of Julia Starks widow of Abram Starks dec'd late Co "B" 57th U. S. Col'd Infantry. Her claim was filed by Platt of his successor Stodd of Natchez Miss [[strikethrough]] Jany 1872 [[/strikethrough]] - Subsequently awarded & for Atto. To D W Lindsey forwarded in Jany 1872 - Julia A. Stodds, wants to be certain whether she is the woman - Please direct to John B. Lindsey
