Dear Sir,
The wife of George Duncan (Colored) (Geo was at Lexington yesterday) mother of Squire Hopkins dec'd, a soldier of the 100 Reg NY Vols, wants to go to Louisville to receive bal due on claim, & I write to know if the matter can be attended to on any day next week that she  may go. Must George (husband) accompany her? 

Will you do them the favor to send blank forms of oath & proof of identity
