I have to invite attention to letter from this office of November 17. 1877, requesting you to endeavor to ascertain the whereabouts of the mother of Harrison Thomas (colored) late Private Co. J. 10th U.S. Cavalry, who, he stated, lives in Jefferson Street, between 5th and 6th Streets Louisville, Ky.; and to request that you will inform this office of the action had by you in the matter and of the result thereof.
