I should have been glad to have had payment made on this trip to such as were ready, but there will not be time and on the whole it will be as well to wait until you make another trip to Memphis, then several more will be ready and you can make something of a payment.  Please let me know the day of your arrival here as long as possible before hand, as some if not all of the parties to be paid live at a considerable distance and at this season of the year and for some months to come mails will be interrupted and travel difficult.  So if you can give more even than two weeks notice please do so & I will endeavor to have
