Joseph Hendon Pvt, "D" Co., 108, Reg't U.S.C. Troops was born in Logan Co Ky, was enlisted the 5 day of July, 1864, at Bowling Green Ky, by Capt Hobson, and was mustered in the 5 day of July, 1864, at Bowling Green Ky, by Capt Hobson, for 3 years.
At the time of enlistment he was 21 years old, and 5 feet 7 inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a farmer. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged (or [[/strikethrough]] died) 15 day of September, 1865, at Post Hospital Meridian Miss Capt E N Martin was commanding officer, and Philip Montgomery first sergeant at time of soldier's Death. The following are the names of one or more of his company who enlisted at or about the same time and place: Dennis Jackson enlisted 5 day of July 1864, and Henry P. Long enlisted 5 day of July, 1864.
