Alexander Julen, Private Co., E 44th Reg't U.S.C.T was born in Georgia, was enlisted the 1st day of June, 1864, Chattanooga Tenn, by Lieut Peck, and was mustered in the 22nd day of June, 1864, at Chattanooga Tenn, by Col. Mussey, for 3 years.

At the time of enlistment he was 21 years old, and 6 feet - inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Farmer. He was discharged [[strikethrough]] (or died) [[/strikethrough]] April 30th [[strikethrough]] day of [[/strikethrough]], 1866, at Nashville Tenn  Capt. Henry W Meeker was commanding officer, and Henry Kelly first sergeant at time of soldier's discharge. The following are the names of one or more of his company who enlisted at or about the same time and place: William Johnson enlisted   day of   186 , and Harvey Knox enlisted   day of  , 186 .
