Silas Thompson Pvt, K Co., 8" Regt. U.S.C. A (Hy) was born in Torgby Co Ky, was enlisted the 4 day of June, 1864, at Fort Donelson Tenn, by John Cook, and was mustered in the 25 day of June, 1864, at Paducah Ky, by Lt. McIver, for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 39 years old, and 5 feet 10 inches in height. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged (or [[/strikethrough]] died) 13 day of April, 1865, at Paducah Ky; 1st" Lieut W. W. Biggach was commanding officer, and Henry Tinsley First Sergeant at time of soldiers death. The following are the names of one or more of his company who enlisted at or about same time and place: Washington Thompson enlisted 4 day of June, 1864, and Peter Willis enlisted 4 day of June, 1864.
