Abram Russells, Private Co., "G" 8th Regt. U. S. C. A. (Hy)was born in Morganfield Kentucky, was enlisted the 28th day of May, 1864, at Union Co. Ky., by Lt. W. Spence, and mustered in the 6th day of June, 1864, at Paducah, Ky, by Lt. D.C. McIvers, for three years. At the time of enlistment he was Forty four years old, and five feet nine inches in height. He was discharged [[strikethrough]] (or died) [[/strikethrough]] 10th day of February, 1866, at Victoria, Texas; Capt. William Spence was commanding officer, and Albert Catlett First Sergeant at time of soldiers discharge. The following are the names of one or more of his company who enlisted at or about the same time and place; Thomas Rice enlisted 28" day of May, 1864, and George Rice enlisted 28" day of May, 1864.

No record of Free or Slave status. Joined at original organization. He is home on Roll for Jan'y and Feb'y 65 "Appointed Corporal 15" Feby. 1865 per S. O. No 19. dated R.H.Q. 27" Feb 65," March & April 65" Sick in Post Hosptl Paducah Ky since April 6, 1865". Sept & Oct 65 Same remark, (also, "Reduced to ranks. 30" Oct '65, per Regtl Order No 58.) and is so reported to date of Muster Out of Co. He was furnished with a discharge March 13, 1866 at Louisville, Ky as of date of muster out of Co.
Complexion Yellow; Eyes gray, Hair black, Occupation Farmer.
