Gerritt Smith. Private, "I" Co., 107th Regt. U.S.C. Inf'y was born in No record, State of Tennessee, was enlisted as a Substitute the 31st day of August, 1864, at Greenupsburg K'y, by Capt Wm. C. Grier, and was mustered in the 31st day of August, 1864, at Greenupsburg K'y, by Capt Wm C. Grier, Pro: Mar:, for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 21 years old, and 5 feet 9 inches in height. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged (or [[/strikethrough]] died) 15" day of May, 1865, at Fort Monroe Va, in Hospital; 2nd Lieut. Robert A. Mins, was commanding officer, and George English First Sergeant at time of soldiers Death. The following are the names of one or more of his company who enlisted at or about same time and place: Elias Sims enlisted as a Substitute 8th day of September, 1864, and Jim Mitchell enlisted as a Substitute 8th day of September, 1864.
