John Long, Pv't., A Co., 109 Regt. U.S.C. Troops was born in Shelby Co., Ky, was enlisted the 14 day of June, 1864, at Louisville, Ky, by Capt. Womack and was mustered in the 14 day of June, 1864, at Louisville, Ky., by Capt. Womack, for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 25 years old, and 5 feet 7 1/2 inches in height. He was discharged [[strikethrough]] (or died) [[/strikethrough]] 6 day of Feb'y, 1866, at Port Lavaca, Tex, 1st Lt. J.H. Turrell - of "E" Co— was commanding officer, and Lemis McGoman First Sergeant at time of soldier's discharge. The following are the names of one or more of his company who enlisted at or about same time and place: Willis Seed enlisted 14 day of June, 1864, and Alfred Ratcliff enlisted 14 day of June, 1864.
