York Phason, Sergt. Co., "H" 4th Reg't U.S.C A. (Ky.) was born in Samson Co. N.C., was enlisted the 15th day of October, 1863, at Columbus, Ky., by [[strikethrough]] Lt. Johnson, [[/strikethrough]] and was mustered in the 23rd day of October, 1863, at Columbus, Ky., by Lt. Fetterman, for 3 years.

At the time of enlistment he was 23 years old, and 5 feet 5½ inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Blacksmith. He was discharged [[strikethrough]] (or died) [[/strikethrough]] 25th day of February 1866, at Little Rock, Ark. Capt. E Kenneys was commanding officer, and Alexander Shaw first sergeant at time of the soldier's discharge. [[strikethrough]] The following are the names of one or more of his company who enlisted at or about the same time and place:
