Squire Barrett Pvt., "D" Co., 118 Reg't U.S.C. Troops was born in Fleming Co. Ky, was enlisted the 24 day of August, 1864, at Owensboro KY, by Capt Grissom, and was mustered in the 24 day of August, 1864, at Owensboro Ky, by Capt Grissom, for 3 years.
At the time of enlistment he was 22 years old, and 5 feet 5 inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Laborer. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged [[/strikethrough]] died 30 day of November, 1864 at Deep Bottom Va. Capt Isaac D. Davis was commanding officer and James Bibb first sergeant at time of soldier's death.
