NARA 0986 (FORM 24.) William J. Rice, Pvt. Co., F. 109 Reg't U.S.C.T. was born in Kenton, Ky., was enlisted the 16 day of May, 1864, at Covington Ky,. by Maj. Mitchell and was mustered in the 28 day of May, 1864, at Covington, Ky, by Maj. Mitchell, for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 22 years old, and 5 feet 8 inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Laborer. He was discharged [[strikethrough]] (or died) [[/strikethrough]] 6 day of February, 1866, at Port Lavaca, Tex. 1 Lt. J. M. Schommaker was commanding officer, and James Belt, first sergeant at time of soldier's discharge. REMARKS 1. If a slave, that fact and name of owner will be noted here. 2.
