Henry Sanford, Private Co., "F," 51st Reg't U.S.C. Troops was born in Loudon [[Loudoun]] Co., Virginia, was enlisted the 24th day of July, 1863, at Millikens Bend, La., by Lt. Col. A. W. Weber, and was mustered in the 28th day of July, 1863, at Millikens Bend, La., by Capt. Ferguson, for 3 years.
At the time of enlistment, he was 44 years old, and 5 feet 4 inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Teamster. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged (or [[/strikethrough]] died) 7th day of January, 1864, at Vicksburg, Miss. Capt. Thos. H. Seaman was commanding officer, and Henry Savacool first sergeant at time of soldier's death.
