John Taylor, Private Co."F", 63rd Reg't U.S.C. Troops was born in Baltimore, Md., was enlisted the 13th day of November, 1863, at Vicksburg, Miss., by D.L. Jones, and was mustered in the 13th day of November, 1863, at Vicksburg, Miss, by Capt. Ide, for 3 years.

At the time of enlistment he was 45 years old, and 5 feet 11 inches high, Black complexion, Brown eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Farmer. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged (or [[/strikethrough]] died) 20th day of April, 1864, at Waterproof, La. 2nd Lt Francis M. Johnson was commanding officer, and Albert H. Southwick first sergeant at time of soldier's death.
