(FORM 24.) Louis Rattiff, Private Co., A Powell's Detachment [[strikethrough]] Reg't U.S.C. [[strikethrough]] was born in Franklin Co, Miss., was enlisted the 4th day of March, 1864, at Vicksburg Miss, by H.C.Rundlett and was mustered in the 31st day of March, 1864, at Vicksburg Miss, by 1st Lieut. C.W.G. Hyde, for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 18 years old, and 5 feet 6 inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Farmer. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged (or [[strikethrough]] died 28th day of September, 1864 at Vicksburg Miss 1st Lieut C.W.G. Hyde was commanding officer, and William Foreman first sergeant at time of soldier's death. REMARKS. 1. If a slave, that fact and name of owner will be noted here. 2. Any other peculiar fact or event connected with the soldier's history will also be noted. No record of free or slave status. Joined original organization, died in Regimental hopsital at Vicksburg, Miss September 28 1864, of disease.
