NARA0093 (Form 24.) Howard Murphy, Private Co., "C," 116th Reg't U.S.C. Troops was born in Fayette Co; Kentucky, was enlisted the 29th day of June, 1864, at Camp Nelson, Ky, by J.C. Randolph and was mustered in the 5th day of July, 1864, at Camp Nelson, Ky, by Capt. Kinney, for 3 years. At the time of enlistment he was 23 years old, and 5 feet 3 inches high, Black complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by occupation a Farmer. He [[strikethrough]] was discharged (or [[/strikethrough]] died) 16th day of August, 1866, at White's Ranche, Texas. Capt. George H. Lambert was commanding officer, and Samuel Moten first sergeant at time of soldier's death. REMARKS. 1. If a slave, that fact and name of owner will be noted here. 2. Any other peculiar fact or event connected with the soldier's history will also be noted. He was a Slave of Joseph Evans, Fayette Co, Ky. Joined Co. at Original Organization.
