I have reported my opinion about the people of Fauquier Co. in several communications. I still have the opinion, that a Union, man a Yankee, or Negroes life or rights, is valued about as highly as a dogs, as I have never known of a case where any notice has been taken of any outrage committed against the above named unfortunate class of people.

Knowledge of these "Claims", states that he has nothing upon his records in reference to them, that if he ever had knew, he forwarded them to his former partner Chauncy Leonard, at Washington D.C. that Leonard was suspended for some Malfeasance in office, and the Claims, remaining in his hands transferred to different parties in Washington, some to Wolf, Hart & Co, Johnson, Brown & Co. and Bell, & Co, and others to the Freedmans Bureau.
