Respectfully returned to the Asst Comr of Va. with the information that two of the children, Thomas and Thornton Robinson, were apprentised to Mr. Wm. S. Colbert, by the overseers of the poor of the Smythe Co in 1865. The indenture is recorded in the clerks office in that County Mr. Colburne is learning them to read and write according to the contract, the oldest child a girl of 16 years of age is in Culpepper Co Va. with a Mr. Flint. He does not know whether she is held by contract or not but thinks she has a good home, Mr. Colbert is under obligation to pay the boys apprenticed to him 20$ and give them an extra suit of clothes at the expiration of their time which is when they are 21 years of age according to the terms of the indenture.
