These cases are contested by one or more persons. Mr "Gilbert Moyers" or Messrs. "Moyers & Dedrick" appear as Attys of record in behalf of one of the claimants in each of the above mentioned cases.

I have the honor to request that you will notify these claimants to appear at my office Room No 3 Vincent Block in order that I may be enabled to investigate their cases & report the same. They should appear sometime during the present month.

This with a view of hastening the settlement of these claims by the Treasury Department.

This is to inform you that your claim for bounty has been sent to me for investigation.

For this purpose you must appear with witnesses who are familiar with the facts in the case at my office Room No 3 Vincent Block any week day during this month between the hours of 9.A.M.& 1.P.M.

Unless you do this you can not obtain this bounty

Respectfully returned to the A.G. Office inviting attention to the affidavits of James Chenault & Henry Cheers (colored) and John H. McClellan a Cotton & Commission Merchant of this place. This is the only information I am able to obtain in the case.

I am unable to ascertain the whereabouts of either of the female claimants Selia Joy or Amy Joy or of their witnesses.

My office has been established at this place a sufficient length of time to have given them an opportunity for making inquiries concerning their claim
