Certificate of deposit for $290.62 (deposited to the credit of the U.S. Treas'y rec'd back from Sec'y of Treas'y. Mar. 7. '76. on account of error. Amended account current for January '76 sent accordingly.

Respectfully returning through the Adjt. Genl. of the Army to the Hon. 2nd Auditor of the Treasury the papers in the case of Robert Hines Co. "D" 3 H.A. inviting attention to the enclosed affidavits procured by me from Hanibal Hines, H. Hines, H. Smith, J. Cox and Abner Buford, that of the last named party having been obtained incidentally on the occasion of his presenting himself at this office to receive his discharge certificate. I can procure no further evidence in the case.

I have received your statement of my disbursing account dated Feb. 29. 1876 and find the balance therein reported to be correct, with the exception below.
I have also examined the numbers, dates and amounts of the debit and credit in entries therein reported and the same agree with my records with the exception that check No. 2058 in favor of Major A.K. Arnold, 6th Cav. D.O. for $211 80/100 issued by me Feb. 21. 1876 is not included on your Statement.
