Sir
I have the honor to report that in the matter of Fayette Robinson, who fraudulently obtained the money due Joshua Butler (reported by me last month) the U.S. Marshall has not yet been able to arrest any of the parties, but a detective here tells me he knows where two of them are, and will arrest them if he will be paid twenty five dollars each. I told him that I was not authorized to pay for any such service, but would report the matter to you for your consideration and orders.
Very respectfully, Your obdt servt.
Major 13th Inf. D.O.
