Enclosed please find check No (2042) 1 B on Assistant Treasurer New-York for Thirty Eight Thousand Nine hundred and nine dollars and Eighty Eight cents ($38909 88/100) drawn to my order by Major Geo Gibson 5th Infantry, Disbursing Officer on account of pay, bounty, prize-money, &c, under act of Congress approved March 29th 1867, the said check being dated at Nashville Tenn, March 12th 1875, and to be placed to my official credit.
