Sir:
Your two communications dated Nov 2d 74 have been received, one of them containing the original List dated Sept 27th 72, covering the case of Aaron & Lydia Smith children of Green Smith, late Pvt of Co C 111th. I accidentally failed to find it on the Lists made out by you (when Major Lamotte transferred his funds) owing to my having looked under the head of "S" for the soldier's name.  The Auditor in his letter of Sept 18th 74, establishes the death of Aaron & Lydia Smith.
